As the society moves in this day and age, we seek speed. Speed is everywhere in our lives. The value of being concise, and of a quick service appeals to us. When we turn to anything, we want stuff done in a very quick manner, and possibly by lowering the value of that which we want completed. In politics, we arrive at a problem.
The problem is, politics is confusing, complicated, and corrupt. Politics is a matter with no cookie cutter solutions, no clear end or beginning. With these two worlds colliding, they are bound to create problems for each other. When people want quick, simple solutions to the very vast and important problems of our society, we are on the cusp of a significantly worse fate than being the 2nd most developed country in the world or losing a few trillion dollars.
When we seek quick solutions, what is it that is directly done to our judgement? Especially when angry, people do things that get themselves worked up, and logical answers are ousted and ruined. In politics, this is one of the worst things one can do. Consider the gravity of this statement by Adolf Hitler, “I do not have a dictatorship. I have a simplified democracy”. While it seems like we’re a long ways from that, consider what it feels like to see how brutal politics are today.
Now, if one were to imagine a favorite actor suddenly becoming smart enough to best politics and runs for candidacy on the grounds of stopping said difficulties, who would stop him but the minds of the few rational beings left in the United States? It is quite easy to offer simple solutions, but it is better, braver, and more stable to ffer up a chance to the mixed answers.
